From the classrooms of West Phoenix to the halls of state policy, I've been on a mission to close the vision care gap that quietly derails thousands of children every year.
With a background spanning public health, nonprofit leadership, and grassroots community organizing, I bring a systems-thinking approach to what many dismiss as a simple medical problem.

JAY JONES IS A DYNAMIC EDUCATION EQUITY ADVOCATE, COMMUNITY BUILDER, AND VISIONARY NONPROFIT LEADER.
As the founder and executive director of Eyes Have A Dream, Jay leads a growing movement to ensure every child in Arizona — regardless of income, race, or zip code — has access to timely, dignified vision care.
Jay's approach is rooted in systems thinking: building sustainable pipelines between schools, optometrists, health partners, and funders that embed vision care into how Arizona supports children at scale.
With over a decade of experience in education equity, public health advocacy, and grassroots organizing, Jay has touched over 3,000 lives across Phoenix's most underserved communities — and is just getting started.
Launching in 2026 with a goal to serve 500+ children in Year 1, Eyes Have A Dream is on track to reach 10,000+ children by 2030 through mobile clinics, school-based screening, bilingual education campaigns, and statewide policy advocacy.
