THE PROBLEM

A HIDDEN BARRIER
TO LEARNING IS
SITTING IN OUR
CLASSROOMS.

READING STRUGGLES & LOWER GRADES

Children who can't see the board fall behind academically — and get labeled as "struggling."

CLASSROOM FRUSTRATION

Undiagnosed vision problems are consistently misread as behavioral or attention issues.

ABSENTEEISM & LOST CONFIDENCE

Kids avoid school when they can't keep up. Confidence collapses. Futures narrow.

COST + ACCESS BARRIERS

Families face high costs, no transportation, and zero awareness of available resources.

This is not just a vision problem. It's an equity problem.

THE VISION
BEHIND THE DREAM.

Jay Jones is a Phoenix-based education equity advocate and community builder who launched Eyes Have A Dream after witnessing firsthand how undiagnosed vision issues were quietly derailing students in West Phoenix classrooms.

With a background spanning public health, nonprofit leadership, and grassroots organizing, Jay brings a systems-thinking approach to what many dismiss as a simple medical problem — proving that clear vision is the foundation of educational opportunity.

"A child who can't see clearly can't learn clearly. And a system that ignores that isn't just failing at healthcare — it's failing at justice."
